Phase one of the Nature Play Space is complete! First School has created an outdoor play area for children to enjoy and learn from, complete with a pavilion, two timber houses, a wooden ship, jumping stumps, balance logs, picnic tables, interactive sound walls, and a nature trail that will allow students to explore and learn about the natural environment.

After working on this project for more than two years, we are overjoyed that this dream is at last becoming a reality. We would especially like to thank our staff, families and church members for working together with the school in supporting this project and the funding from grants from the Arkansas Department of Education.

The funding for the Natural Playground was from grants from the Arkansas Department of Education, fundraising events like the school picnic auction and Butter Braid fundraiser and donations from parents and church members.

The goal of the Nature Play Space is to provide a magical environment where children can plan, observe, explore, predict, imagine, take risks, engage with nature, and get dirty.
